Distinguish the course from the exam
French official guidance recommends preparation training without making the course itself compulsory. Exam requirements and registration remain separate. Check the CMA's instructions and the training provider's approved status through official channels before purchasing.
The French compte personnel de formation (CPF) may be relevant to financing an eligible course. It is not a universal discount: verify the specific course, your available rights and applicable payment conditions through the official process.
Compare components rather than labels

A learner's complete-cost example
Assumed prices only: a remote course costs EUR 250, separate practical tuition EUR 500 and exam registration EUR 200: EUR 950 in total. An in-person package costs EUR 900, with EUR 100 of travel and EUR 200 registration: EUR 1,200. Assume both include a suitable exam vehicle within those course/practical amounts; otherwise add it to each side.
The apparent EUR 250 difference does not prove better value. If the learner needs more driving feedback, an extra assumed EUR 300 remote-practical session takes that option to EUR 1,250. These are decision inputs, not provider quotes or current exam tariffs.
Make a study plan you can keep
A learner working during the day might reserve five one-hour theory sessions per week and book practical sessions in advance. Those five hours are an illustrative timetable, not a sufficient total preparation duration. Reassess after a diagnostic quiz and a supervised driving session.
Ask what you will be able to demonstrate: explaining regulations, handling a client professionally, preparing a route and driving safely. A large video library or an advertised pass rate without a documented sample does not answer that question.
Before paying
Get the complete services and cancellation terms in writing. Ask who handles exam registration and whether the practical test vehicle is guaranteed for your session. Read the historical EUR 20 offer with its availability warning rather than treating it as today's alternative.
