Do not rely on the old experience route
The search for a “VTC card without an exam” can lead to outdated advice. The current French Service Public guide states that, from 12 August 2026, professional experience no longer provides access to the VTC profession: the exam is the access route. It says applications submitted before that date are not subject to this new requirement.

A dated decision example
Illustration: a driver submitted a complete application on 1 August 2026 and retained its receipt. That evidence matters when asking how the earlier-file rule applies. Another driver merely paid a training deposit on that date but had not submitted a card application: do not treat the deposit as proof of an earlier application.
Neither example guarantees approval. A submission date does not resolve the other eligibility conditions or establish that every document is sufficient.
Prepare the exam route
Ask the CMA for the session calendar, registration instructions, examination documents and applicable fees. Distinguish exam preparation from the exam itself. Check how a course covers both theory and professional driving; a training certificate is not a professional card.
After success, use the official online card application. Its entry page provides the document list before you start. Keep the exam certificate, identity and other requested evidence in a readable file, using the authority's exact checklist.
